| "I have admired the many facets of Steve's artwork for several years. However, as a first rate scrimshander, his work in ivory is what I most prize. Steve is a master at transforming ideas into wonderful original pictures that he transcribes onto ivory with detail and precision second to none. His skills have been particularly satisfying to me as I enjoy nautical ships and scenes, which can include a great deal of depth and detail. Steve and I discuss concepts and ideas for each new piece. He then researches ships, places, and periods for technical accuracy, and sketches a draft of the work. The finely polished and scrimmed final articles are pieces of art of exceedingly fine quality, as well as personal treasures. I would wholeheartedly recommend Steve and his work to anyone who has a love of scrimshaw art." Bob Oxborrow |

| "Steve has done six scrims for me during the past few years, and is currently working on another. From the start, I've loved his great original designs, his wonderful scrim style and his easy manner. As the original "ramrod" of the scrimshaw collectors web site ( www.scrimshawcollectors.com ), I have never hesitated in giving Steve my 100% "Thumbs Up" to many of my collector friends. Keep scratching, Steve !" Dick Ertel |

Endorsements are defined as follows: "to recommend (as a product or service) usually for financial compensation." Well, just to let you know, I need no favors or compensation to recommend Steve's work. If you read the other superlative endorsements about Steve and his work, which are all true, it comes down to the statement that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Having known Steve since 2001, and a repeat customer who currently enjoys fifteen pieces of his work, I believe that Steve is able to capture the essence of a scene and masterfully present it to the viewer. While most of Steve's work has been done in the form of scrimshaw, I believe it would be a mistake not to enjoy other works done by Steve in paint or pencil. Steve did a pencil drawing of Walt Whitman that is truly remarkable. At first glance, it is so well done, that it looks like a finely detailed photograph. However, when studied the viewer is presented with a man that is relaxed and at peace with himself and the world. It is quite remarkable. As a continued satisfied customer since 2001, I can only say to a potential customer that you can read these endorsements and view his scrimshaw, paint and pencil art on-line, but you can't fully appreciate it until you hold it and see it in person. | Steve Turner is by far one of the best Scrimshanders in the world today. His attention to detail and originality are just some of his qualities as an artist. He takes his work very seriously and places the customer’s needs and requests ahead of anything else. He is easy to work with and his work is well worth the price. I own a half dozen pieces of his work and hope to acquire more. It is easy for me to say Steve Turner is one of the best investments in scrimshaw today.
